NEW YORK, NY – January 22, 2015 – Nickelodeon has partnered with FLuD and Vashtie Kola to design a limited edition, SpongeBob SquarePants crossbody bag for spring 2015. The bag is the perfect spring wardrobe addition featuring SpongeBob-yellow, vegan leather, a scalloped flap and 24” crossbody linked chain. Only 100 pieces will be available globally on Monday, January 26 exclusively at NickShop.com, Karmaloop.com and Fludwatches.com, retailing for $100.
When FLuD partners Mel Peralta and Doug Cohen were asked by Nickelodeon to design and create a limited edition SpongeBob fashion accessory, they immediately thought of Kola. Kola is a New York-based director, filmmaker, artist, designer, creative consultant and DJ. She has cultivated the Downtown New York scene for over a decade as a style icon.
“We’ve always wanted to give our women supporters something dope that spoke the FLuD language. Being a brand founded in NYC, it was great to be able to collaborate with Downtown Sweetheart, Vashtie and one of our favorite Nickelodeon characters, SpongeBob SquarePants. This very limited edition crossbody bag was designed by Vashtie and it has specific elements that exude the essence of SpongeBob all the while fully representing for FLuD and the ladies,” says Perlata.
The cross-body bag is every woman’s go-to item for transitioning from a full day at school or the office into a fabulous evening out with friends.
