Voice Cast Of Nickelodeon's New Preschool Series "Butterbean's Cafe" Announced

New York City based audio facility Dubway Studios has announced the exciting news that prominent actors Nancy Giles (The Jim Gaffigan Show, The Electric Company, Superheroes, Law & Order) and Alysia Reiner (Orange Is the New Black, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, 30 Rock, The Sopranos) will be voicing characters in Nickelodeon's upcoming brand-new animated preschool series Butterbean's Cafe!


Butterbean's Cafe is about a fairy who runs a neighborhood cafe with her friends. The series will feature creative cooking, a farm-to-table philosophy and a social-emotional curriculum that focuses on leadership skills. Created by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, the creators of Bubble Guppies, the series is produced by Brown Bag Films (Peter Rabbit) in Ireland. On the series, Cathi Turow (Sesame Street) serves as Headwriter, Mark Salisbury (The Naked Brothers Band) series as Supervising director, Laura Kleinbaum (Staff Writer at Nick Jr.) serves as Staff Writer, Rosie duPont serves as Script Assistant. All of the voice over is being recorded in New York City at Dubway Studios (Wallykazam!), who commenced production on the series in April 2016. Butterbean's Cafe is slated to debut in 2018 as part of Nickelodeon's 2017-2018 programming season.


Additionally, Athan Sporek (Les Misérables and A Bronx Tale on Broadway), Kirrilee Berger (stage productions of Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins, Dora The Explorer, Hall Stars, Nickelodeon Pilot Storyforia), Melissa Van Der Schyff (Sunny Day, Wallykazam!, The Thing About Babies, Jillian Holtzman in Ghostbusters (2016) LEGO Dimensions), and Aiden Reid Medina (Team Umizoomi, Dora the Explorer, Myth of Robo Wonder Kid, Bubble Guppies, Dora and Friends: Into the City!, Blaze and the Monster Machines) will also be lending their voices to Butterbean's Cafe!

Kirrilee will voice Poppy, Melissa will voice Miss Honeybook, and Aiden will voice Reuben (recurring character), Kid 2 and Brookie Kid 1.

Melissa Van Der Schyff will also be voicing series regulars KC and Cindy in Nickelodeon's upcoming animated preschool series Sunny Day.

Four Butterbean's Cafe episode titles have also been revealed: "Reuben's Pizza Party", "Cricket Boss", "Jasper Petsitting", and
"A Bean for Halloween"!

Update (11/7): Since the post was originally published, a few more details about Nickelodeon's upcoming animated preschool series has been revealed:

- Broadway star Gabriella Pizzolo, and clients of Stephanie Artuso, who runs the commercial department at Shirley Grant Management, will also be lending their voices to Butterbean's Cafe;

- White Lake Music / Voice Coaches is currently producing Voice Over for Nickelodeon Network's Butterbean’s Cafe;

- Jake Bolles serves as a Editing Engineer on the new series, and provides Dialogue Recording services for the show;

- The Butterbean’s Cafe theme song has been written by multi-platinum songwriter Jeannie Lurie (School of Rock);

- Michael Kaufman (Bubble Guppies) serves as the Line Producer for Butterbean's Café;

- The SquarePeg Group are also involved in the production of Butterbean's Café.
