Nickelodeon UK To Premiere New Movie "Bruno & Boots: Go Jump In The Pool!" On Friday 21st April 2017

Get ready for some major laughs this April, as Nickelodeon UK & Ireland/HD will be premiering the wildly successful movie Bruno & Boots: Go Jump in the Pool! on Friday 21st April 2017 at 6:30pm, as part of Easter on Nick!

Based on the much-loved Macdonald Hall book series by Gordon Korman (Swindle), Bruno and Boots follows the adventures of Bruno Walton (Jonny Gray, Ride, Max & Shred) and Melvin "Boots" O'Neal (Callan Potter, The Other Kingdom), the most infamous troublemakers at Macdonald Hall, a supposedly prestigious school for boys, and, within their time at the school, Bruno has managed to convince Boots to tag along during countless prank operations.

Featuring an eclectic mix of supporting characters ranging from an an eccentric school genius to a hypochondriac snob, Bruno and Boots' epic pranks and frequent unintended consequences keep the stories continuously thrilling.

In Bruno and Boots: Go Jump in the Pool (1 x 90), after a dismal defeat at the hands of their York Academy rivals at the semi-annual swim meet, Bruno uncovers that Macdonald Hall is perilously close to losing several top students to York (including his best pal Boots) thanks to the Hall’s less than impressive sports facilities.

After a dismal defeat at the hands of their York Academy rivals at the semi-annual swim meet, Bruno uncovers that Macdonald Hall is perilously close to losing his best pal Boots to York thanks to Macdonald Hall’s less than impressive sports facilities. Bruno goes on a fundraising warpath to build their own pool. The duo’s shenanigans try the patience of Headmaster William "The Fish" Sturgeon (Peter Keleghan) and Headmistress Eugenia Scrimmage (Caroline Rhea). Despite their ongoing pranks, Bruno and Boots love their school and are willing to do anything to protect it.

Determined to save their swim program and keep his friend at Macdonald Hall, Bruno goes on the fundraising warpath to build their own pool. Through rummage sales, nationally televised bake-offs and other ill-advised (borderline illegal) schemes, the Macdonald Hall boys raise a good chunk of cash. But with the final swim meet of the season close at hand and only half the funds raised, Bruno must take drastic action to keep Boots from becoming a dreaded York "turkey" - a fate worse than any detention Headmaster Sturgeon can dole out - including rallying the girls of Scrimmage Academy in his epic quest!

Following the debut of Bruno & Boots: Go Jump in the Pool!, Nick UK & Eire/HD will encore the all-new Nick Flick on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at 11:00am and 5:30pm.

“The chemistry between the young cast members is truly incredible,” said Jamie Piekarz, Director of Content, Corus Kids. “Jonny and Callan bring Gordon Korman’s beloved characters to life in this hilarious comedy, which will delight both old and new Macdonald Hall fans.”

“The majority of people involved in this production from start to finish are Macdonald Hall fans themselves,” said Anthony Leo, Producer, Aircraft Pictures. “And, I think their passion for Gordon Korman’s first book series is evident on screen.”

Bruno & Boots: Go Jump in the Pool! is produced by Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen of Aircraft Pictures (Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, Cybergeddon), written by Adam Barken (Killjoys, Flashpoint), directed by Vivieno Caldinelli (This Hour has 22 Minutes, Odd Squad), and distributed by Breakthrough Entertainment. Bruno & Boots: Go Jump in the Pool! also stars Hannah Vandenbygaart (Make it Pop, Tell the World), Kiana Madeira (Really Me, My Babysitter’s a Vampire), Joshua Kilimnik (Backstage, Odd Squad), Drew Haytaoglu (Anne of Green Gables), Isiah Lea (The Stanley Dynamic), Jayne Eastwood (Little Mosque On The Prairie), and Scott Thompson (Kids In The Hall). The movie was produced with the financial participation of the Shaw Rocket Fund and the Bell Fund.

Classic Nickelodeon UK fans will recognise actress Caroline Rhea, who portrays Ms. Scrimmage in the Bruno and Boots film series, as Aunt Hilda in Sabrina, The Teenage Witch.

Following the tremendous response from the films world premiere on YTV in Canada in April 2016, Breakthrough has announced that Bruno and Boots will be continuing their hilarious adventures in two brand new sequels which are currently in production, Bruno & Boots: This Can’t Be Happening at Macdonald Hall and Bruno & Boots: The Wizzle War. These sequels will follow in the spirit of the original film and will once again feature the infamous troublemakers from Bruno and Boots: Go Jump in the Pool, and will debut on YTV Canada on Saturday 1st April 2017.

Nickelodeon acquired the international broadcast rights to Bruno And Boots: Go Jump In The Pool in October 2016 for Nickelodeon channels in Australia & New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Benelux, Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Poland.

Korman began his writing career at the age of 12, when he signed his first contract with book publisher Scholastic Canada for This Can’t Be Happening at Macdonald Hall. That book became the first in a seven-book series which also includes Go Jump in the Pool! Now, he is a full-time writer and speaker, with more than 28 million copies of his novels in print. His books have been translated into 30 different languages. Bruno & Boots: Go Jump in the Pool! is the third TV project based on a book by Korman. Swindle, based on the book of the same name premiered on Nickelodeon in 2013 and the Disney Channel TV series The Jersey was based on Korman’s The Monday Night Football Club. He is the author of more than 80 books for kids and young adults.
