London, 22nd March 2018 – Nickelodeon slimed Diversity founder and TV star Ashley Banjo, as he accepted an honorary Kids’ Choice Award for UK Inspirational Role Model. Ashley was joined by fellow Diversity members and Nickelodeon presenters Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely at their dance studios as they presented him with the famous orange blimp award before he was given the ultimate Nickelodeon honour – slime!


With next year marking 10 years since Diversity won Britain’s Got Talent, Nickelodeon presented Ashley with the UK Inspirational Role Model award in recognition of his career as one of the country’s most creative entertainers.


From ground-breaking dance initiatives, 7 sell-out nationwide arena tours, prime-time TV appearances including Dancing On Ice, Got To Dance, and Britain’s Got Talent and appearing on China’s Got Talent, Ashley’s dance routines have entertained and amazed the world over.

Most recently Ashley presented during The 2017 Pride of Britain Awards as well as A Night For The Emergency Services, a celebration of the heroes behind the uniforms to show appreciation and thanks for the incredible work they do.


Previous Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK honorary slime winners include Olly Murs, Mo Farah and Andy Murray.

Hosted by WWE Superstar John Cena for a second time and now in its 31st year, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards annually celebrates kids’ favorites from across the worlds of film, television, music, pop culture, animation and more, with surprises at every turn. British talent up for awards this year include, Coldplay, Daisy Ridley, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Millie Bobby Brown and The Vamps. UK - Diversity founder Ashley Banjo was covered in slime as he was presented with a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for his impact on the world of dance and in recognition of his career as one of the country’s most creative entertainers.

The 29-year-old, who shot to fame alongside brother Jordan Banjo when Diversity won Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, said it felt “incredible” to win the "UK Inspirational Role Model" blimp award.

He was handed the honorary orange blimp gong by Nickelodeon presenter Jordan and Perri Kiely at Diversity’s dance studios before receiving the ultimate Nickelodeon honour – a world-famous Nickelodeon sliming!

He said: “It feels incredible to be receiving the KCA Honorary Slime award for UK Inspirational Role Model from Nickelodeon.

Ashley joins a star-studded list of previous slimees including Justin Bieber, Taylor Lautner, Katy Perry, Halle Berry, Nick Jonas, Harrison Ford, Orlando Bloom, Olly Murs, Sir Mo Farah, Andy Murray, Perri Kiely and his Diversity co-dancers, and Ant and Dec.
