Update (5/20): And the winner of Nickelodeon and Nintendo Switch's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splatoon 2 Splatfest is... (click here to find out!)

Update - Via Nintendo.com:

05.17.18

The Finals are almost here! The ultimate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle will be determined in the next Splatfest!

It’s been an inktense and fun couple weeks of Splatfest action, but it’s all been leading to this: who will be crowned the most popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle? Will it be Raph? Or his equally worthy brother Donnie? Only you can decide in the final round of our tournament-style Splatfest!

As a reminder, it doesn’t matter if you participated in the last two rounds or if your team won or lost. All players can vote and play in the finals. Get ready for:

Final Round: Raph vs. Donnie
May 18 (Fri) 9:00 p.m. PT – May 19 (Sat) 9:00 p.m. PT

As always, Turf War wins during each Round will help your side out, and the winner will be determined by a combination of popularity, Solo Win percentage, and Team Win percentage.

Good luck, everyone! And for more ninja action, the new ""Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"" animated series debuts on Nickelodeon later this year.

AND THE WINNER IS... All categories were close across the board. Raph was a bit more popular, but Donnie managed to just scrape by with wins in solo and team battles. As a result, Donnie took home the last win by a score of 2-1. COWABUNGA!

While he lost the popular vote, he won the electoral equivalent, as his team won more Splatfest matches than their Raphael counterparts.

Turtle Power continues! It's Mikey vs. Donnie in the next Splatfest

Splatfests are recurring online competitions in Splatoon 2 that ask players to pick a side – in this case, their favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Once players choose a team, they’ll receive an in-game T-shirt adorned with an image of their preferred Turtle for their Inkling character to wear as they compete in online multiplayer Turf Wars battles to see which side comes out on top. Round 1 of our three-round, tournament-style Splatfest is in the books, and Raph had a stunning pizza-fueled victory over Leo. Congrats to everyone who was on the winning side!

However, that was just the beginning. Round 2 will feature the second set of beloved brothers: Mikey vs. Donnie. As a reminder, it doesn’t matter if you participated in the last round or if your team won or lost. All players can vote and play in each round! Keep an eye out for:

Round 2: Mikey vs. Donnie
May 11 (Fri) 9:00 p.m. PT – May 12 (Sat) 9:00 p.m. PT

As always, Turf War wins during each Round will help your side out, and the winner will be determined by a combination of popularity, Solo Win percentage, and Team Win percentage. Another important note: make sure to pick up your Super Sea Snails by Tuesday morning, as there will be a more limited time than usual to receive them (before voting for the final round begins).

Good luck, everyone! And for more ninja action, the new "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated series debuts on Nickelodeon later this year.

“We love working with unexpected partners to expand our brand and bring smiles to people’s faces in surprising ways,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Teaming up with Nickelodeon and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made perfect sense, as we share many of the same fans who enjoy family-friendly entertainment and classic characters.”

At the end of the Splatfest, each team’s popularity and win rate is tallied up, and one team is crowned the victor. Depending on what Splatfest rank players achieve, they’ll receive Super Sea Snails, which can be exchanged to further customize gear in the game. Because of the new tournament format, players need to pick up their Super Sea Snails by the Tuesday morning following each round. The early squid catches the Sea Snails, as the old saying goes.
